I EXPECTED BETTER FOR THE PRICE |
Logitech headphones: The headphones work fine and are as comfortable on my head as others I've tried. The sound is clear and clean for a wireless, a real plus. Design is good except for the volume control, which is not user friendly. You push a round disc up to decrease volume and down to increase. Problem is its cumbersome as heck to use and the surface noise created as you do it is irritating. The headphones appear to be of good construction, solid and not fragile. The mouthpiece is flexible, a real bonus feature for those of us who move the earpieces around from time. The ear pads are floaters to a degree, at least enough to rest on your ears as comfortable and snug as possible which means you don't have to redesign your ears to fit the ear pads. Max range for the transmitter is about 45 feet for my unit.
The volume control can be configured to control the computer volume or you can let the computer control the headphone volume. The real problem is getting all sound functions on your computer to work at once with the headphones; meaning speakers, record, wireless speakers and the headphones. I've tried all kind of configurations and haven't found one that works yet. Be patient with the instructions. Find a language you like and bounce from section to section to find your selection. My overall rating for the headphones is an 80 out of a hundred and that's assuming I'll find a way to get all the sound applications working at once.

good quality crack and clicking problems |
Bought this item to facilitate listining music while working and to record during preparation of slide shows. The wires on previous versions keep getting in the way so i bought this wireless version.
Pros:
1 no wires
2 comfortable
3 easy to install and use
4 light and very portable
Cons:
1 clicking and cracking sound too often even at very close range.
2 range is horrible it sould be designed with a much longer range.
overall i prefer to the previous wired version but not for listening to music. i now use the wired version when listeing to music while working |

My Favorite of 3 Models |
Recently purchased three wireless headsets for use with Dragon Naturally Speaking. I found that according headsets were frustrating in that they limited my range of movement from my desk at the office. The purchased headsets are the following:
Logitech - Logitech ClearChat Wireless USB Headset - Black
Creative - Creative Labs HS-1200 Digital Wireless Gaming Headset with Sound Blaster X-Fi Technology (Black)
Asus - HS-1000W Pc Wrls USB Headset 20-20KHZ for Music Gaming & Voip
I am currently using the ASUS to dictate this review. All three of these models perform extremely well and feel very good on my head. Sound quality and microphone quality were virtually indistinguishable to a lay person like myself using the headsets in a quiet office environment. Further, all three headsets were surprisingly easy to use right out of the box. The accuracy levels of these headsets while in Dragon Naturally Speaking rivaled the corded headsets I have previously used. As an aside, Version 10 of Dragon Naturally Speaking is an excellent "speech to text" program.
The ASUS would be my first choice if you are going to use a headset while traveling with a laptop. This is because the USB dongle can connect directly to the headset for charging purposes using a double ended mini USB cable. In other words, there is no power outlet needed, and there is a minimum of cabling required when transporting the headset. All in all, it is a very capable performer at an excellent price point, with its own carry case.
The Logitech headset is my absolute favorite headset if you are going to use it in an office environment without the need for portability. The range is excellent, the volume buttons are very accessible and easy to use, and the huge mute button along with the accompanying red LED which lights when the microphone is muted (very handy when using Dragon NaturallySpeaking) makes this my absolute favorite choice.
The Creative headset has very nice audio and is a capable performer. As far as I was concerned, nothing about this headset was particularly better than the other two that I have reviewed here.

ok but terrible range |
The sound is OK, you have to have the usb antenna pointed right at your right ear. I tried putting in as high as possible in my work cubical, but every time I turn my head the wrong way I lose the signal.
They do work good for web conferencing though. Just dont turn too far away from the antenna. |

Wireless Headset - only used a few times |
I just got my headset and have only used them a couple of times but so far I'm very happy with them. They are comfortable and pretty easy to use once you get used to where the buttons are located. The battery doesn't last that long but you can use them while they are charging so that isn't a problem. I do find that when I pick them up to put them on I always hit the volume up or down controls. I like the way you mute them by raising the mic bar.
Anxious to use them more. |
