A great mouse for your mobile needs. |
I've been using this mouse for about three months now and I feel like I can safely say it's a great product.
The initial set up was very easy. You can install the drivers from the supplied disc or as I did, download the latest drivers from Logitech's website. After installing the drivers I simply plugged in the receiver and then powered on the mouse and everything linked up flawlessly. I've never had an issue getting the mouse to work with my laptop.
There's a nice sliding cover on the bottom of the mouse for the laser and it's also the power. I find myself simply sliding it shut when I'm not using the mouse and then quickly sliding it open when I do, there's zero wait time for the mouse to be recognized by the laptop. This helps keeps the battery life. With moderate use of the mouse of the past three months I still have 22 days of battery life remaining on a set of Eneloops. You can check your battery life through the installed software.
The mouse is comfortable for its smaller size and has all of the buttons you'd need for an everyday device. I find it to be accurate and reliable and that's really all I can ask. It also comes with a small zipped case that keeps it from getting banged up in your laptop bag.
I'd highly recommend this mouse to anyone looking for a small mouse to stow away with their laptop for travel.

Perfect mouse for HTPC |
I have a HomeTheaterPC behind our entertainment center with the unifying receiver for this on an extension usb cable so that it has a clear signal to the mouse.
I also have a second one of these in the basement, under the living room, attached to the same computer (I have a dual viewing setup via long usb and hdmi extension cables), so you can have 2 receivers with 2 keyboards and 2 mice on the same computer, but it was not easy to do. It should be easier. Logitech apparently never thought anyone would do this.
I love this mouse.
The on/off slider is quite large, making it very easy to turn off so that you (or your kids) do not accidentally move it or click any buttons when you put it aside (or if it slides under the cushions of the couch) or if you dump the mail on top of it.
The battery seems to last forever.
We have no issues with lagging or unresponsiveness whatsoever. It never seems to goto sleep, yet it must for the battery to last that long.
It works equally effectively on the arm of the couch, on the wooden floor, on the carpet on the floor, on the magazines on the coffee table, on the coffee table, on the top of the entertainment center, on your pants leg, etc.
There is a compartment in the mouse to hold the receiver (which is nice because purchasing the keyboard and mouse separately, gave us 4 receivers when we only needed 2 and now we always know where those extra 2 are).

Takes Some Getting Used To |
I've been using Logitech plug-and-play mouse and keyboard devices for the past seven years, and this is my third Logitech laptop laser mouse. This particular model is the first I've owned that actually took some practice to get the most out of it. The mouse is a bit different ergonomically than the others, and I think that's the biggest part of the adjustment. The click spring is very stiff, and I have to pay attention to my clicks to ensure every one "registers," whereas the others were a softer touch, and clicking was a fluid, unconscious effort. I do have very small hands--my fingers are shorter than most ten year-olds', and that probably has a lot to do with the lack of leverage or whatever it is that makes clicking harder.
This isn't a mouse you'll want to use after your better half has gone to sleep. The stiff spring produces a very LOUD click!
However, the free-scroll is worth the noise and extra clicking effort, and so is the ability to use the mouse on nearly any surface. It's also nice to have a receiver that stays plugged into the laptop--no problems accidentally leaving it behind or losing it out of the storage slot on the back of the mouse. I like not having so many protuberances bristling around the edges of my laptop. It's a pretty neat deal. Equally as nice is the ability to fine-tune the mouse to your tastes with the provided software. If you don't care for Logitech settings, there's also an OS setting selection.
The mouse is very well constructed and is much more substantial feeling in the hand than previous models I've owned. It's just a very tight little gadget with no sense of play between the different pieces that make it up. It is heavier than the previous Logitech mice I've used, and it is very slightly flatter and longer. |

Great mouse if you don't mind the loud "click" noise every time you click left, right, or any of the buttons. |

Great Mouse |
|
Had this mouse for 7 months. Great mouse. Two buttons on the side that are easy to use that you can program for different function for different programs. The roller also is very handy. I love this mouse. I leave the USB plug in at all times and it doesn't get in the way at all. Has a range of about 50 ft even over desks and such. Absolutely love this mouse. Would recommend it to anyone. Fits hand nicely also. Original batteries still in it. The search/select button works beautifully with Windows 7. Very handy and useful mouse. |
