Jas-store.com Product Description REVIEW: Shaun White Snowboarding for Sony PSP brings the thrill of the slopes to you, whether you're at home, on a bus, or waiting in the doctor's room for your appointment. Developed by Ubisoft with the input of Shaun White, Olympic Gold Medalist and eight-time X-Games Gold Medalist, Shaun White Snowboarding lets you develop a snowboarder from a novice to an all-world pro.
Experience the thrill of riding down a mountain wherever you are. View larger. |
Attempt tricks and rail grinds for extra points. View larger. | Beautiful Graphics with Sweeping Vistas Harnessing the power of the PSP, Shaun White Snowboarding features impressive visuals with a huge outdoor world and sweeping vistas, and visual effects such as mist coming off the mountain and real-time shadows. The game offers five different mountains, each of which has a variety of slopes, so players won't run out of places to ride very quickly. And because of the graphical detail, you'll be able to see all the smallest details essential to the game, such as thin rails that you'll be grinding on. Character Building game play Shaun White Snowboarding focuses on mastering four different disciplines of snowboarding: speed, tricks, grinding, and carving. When you start the game, you create a character and by mastering the disciplines and acquiring stickers, and you can improve your character in categories such as balance and speed. Participate in Different Challenges Shaun White Snowboarding offers different challenges, each needing a different skill set to win. One challenge is a race down the mountain with other CPU riders, another is tackling a course set up for tricks where you can jump, ride on rails, and perform a whole set of different tricks to get a high score. If you're sick of the snow, practice grinding on rails and tree trunks without ever touching the ground. And you can also compete in carving events, performing sharp carves by holding down the trigger button and maintaining control of your character. As you win challenges, you unlock courses and get more stickers that improve your characters skills. Ride Down a Mountain With Your Friends Shaun White Snowboarding features multiplayer modes, so you can ride the slope together with your friends, as either a friend or as a competitor in a speed run down to the bottom. You can also trade the stickers that you've accumulated in your game with other players.

Needs free ride |
Great game that lacks a few elements. There's no customization, but that's really not a big deal. It needs free ride, but it's still above many PSP games on the market.
Overall great game |

Lacking features |
I was exited to hear of this game. I thought it would be like SSX3 that i had for GC. I was most definitly not. Even though the trailers have it in them, there is no customization of your character at all. I also would have thought that there would be a simple free ride, (would that be so hard??) i was mistaken. there i only the quest version, i have un locked a few moutians and they are basically all the same. The music also left somthing to be desired, there are only 4 tracks including, Alive and Amplifed be the Mooney Susuki, Barracuda by Heart, and Ballroom Blitz by Krokus.
Pros
Good grapics for the PSP
Fluid Gameplay
a bunch of tricks
Cons
No cusomization
no freeride
4 songs that reapeat
long load times
only has quest mode |
