The Porter-Cable Face Frame Biscuits join material as narrow as 1-1/2 inches. Standard size 0 biscuits are too long for use in 1-1/2-inch stock, but these biscuits are 13-by-30-millimeters. With Porter-Cable's 557 Deluxe Plate Joiner and these face frame biscuits, narrow stock can be joined quickly and easily. At 5/32-inch thick, they are as thick as standard biscuits and provide plenty of strength for typical face frame construction. The re-sealable tube protects biscuits from moisture to prevent swelling. These biscuits come in a pack of 175. They are guaranteed with Porter-Cable's 1-year limited warranty. |

Works as expected |

What can one say about a wood biscuit? The Porter-Cable tool to use them is outstanding and very efficient. Sometimes a biscuit is a little bit oversize and has to be tapped into the cut-out. Stand back because glue will spurt everywhere if you happen to tap it too hard. The biscuit process is very good for joining boards to create a large surface but other joining methods such as special router cuts may be best for fine furniture. I have built common furniture with them and used them in areas that have shearing stress. They have held well and have not failed. |

There is not much to say about biscuits. The do work very well and I have gone through about 500 of them with no problems. They seem to be very uniformed and I have not had a joint go out on me yet. I have been building with biscuits for a few years and have always had good luck with Porter-Cable products. |

Teenie, Tiny, Itty, Bitty, Little Biscuits |

These are the smallest biscuits available and are of limited use, but the excel for those uses. They are narrow enough to use for joining face frames on cabinets, but I prefer to do that with a Kreg jig and no biscuits. I use these mainly for joining small picture frames and box corners. The only other method in these applications is a spline, which must be fitted with much more care and precision than a biscuit. These are quality products - I have not had one fail. They fit the slots cut with the special blade that comes with the Porter Cable 557 biscuit joiner kit. The fence on that tool makes it easy to do box corners. If you are doing alot of boxes and frames, I think you will like these biscuits. |

A little too small |

The small face frame biscuits are a great item but in their intended purpose they are hard to work with. The inch and a half stock is better joined together with the old fashioned dowel method. You have to change blades on the joiner to use the smaller blade for this small biscuit and the time it takes isn't worth the trouble to do when you get a better result with the dowel. |

I have used the Porter-Cable 5563 biscuits for several projects and they have worked just fine. The cheaper brands crumble when you try to tap the biscuit into the cut with a hammer... these do not crumble. Very nice! |
