The DELTA JT160 Shopmaster 10 Amp 6-Inch Benchtop Jointer uses a variable speed motor and two-knife cutterhead configuration with jack-screw knife leveling arrangement for easy replacement and adjustments. The 30 x 6-3/16 inch table provides support for surfacing stock up to six inches wide, including soft woods, hard woods, and plastics. The speedy 10 Amp motor spins at 6,000-11,000 RPM, which makes the dual-cutter turn at 12,000-22,000 CPM. The center-mounted fence provides ample support throughout the cut for precise edge jointing, and it tilts out at 45 degrees for added versatility. |

Needed to be shimmed... |

I have a few Delta tools and I was surprised of the poor "accuracy" of this product. The in feed table was not completely flat with the outfeed table at zero clearance and needed to be shimmed in order to get an accurate "flat" jointed edge; disappointed to say the least from a Delta tool. All in all, after the hassle during set up with the shimming, it does have decent construction and provides as a good small shop jointer for under $300. |

I bought this unit and tried to set things up so everything was flush and true only to discover that the infeed table was badly warped. I took it in for service and they had the gall to charge me for repairs. The fence is horrible. I am really sorry I bought this thing and will never purchase another delta tool. |

Could it be a hit-and-miss item? |
I was really concerned about purchasing this jointer because of the high amount of negative reviews. However, with my limited space and budget, I didn't have much of a choice. I went ahead and bought it and I have been pleasantly surprised!
The jointer set up in a manner of minutes. The fence is not the best thing that I have ever seen, but it only took me about three minutes to get it square. I only plan on jointing ninety degree edges, so the fence issues don't really bother me. I like the control knobs and switches. The product feels like higher quality that the $197 that I spent (sorry Jas-store, not purchased here...). I am wondering if it's kind of luck-of-the-draw item...see what you are going to get when you open the box.
I think that if you are looking for a small price and a space saver, you will be happy with this jointer!

Awesome Benchtop Jointer |

This is the second Delta benchtop jointer I've owned and I love it. It takes up little more space than a briefcase and yet does a great job. A certain amount of care is necessary when jointing long pieces, due to the short table length, but anyone buying this item will know that going in. It is a well engineered and solidly constructed piece of equipment that does a great job. |

This jointer is a gift for someone, have opened it up to check it and plug it in to make sure that the motor runs ,But have not did any work
with it , but at this time and what I have seen it looks good.
