A Pleasure to Watch |
I enjoyed this video tremendously. Unlike a lot of tool videos, it's fairly long, so you get your money's worth. Doug Stowe uses a variety of tools and techniques, and he explains very patiently.
On top of that, his voice is so relaxing you could watch this DVD purely for therapy.
Beautiful boxes. And he has a website featuring wonderful furniture. |

Excellent companion to the book!! |
|
I have had the book of this set for several months and have tried a couple boxes with mixed success. I saw several boxes that looked "doable" but were just out of my reach skillwise. I picked up this DVD thinking that it may clarify some issues for me and open up some of the higher level designs. It did exactly that! Stowe opens talking about several jigs that you would be good to add to your collection before getting into the more advanced designs. This is what I needed and am working now on the jigs that will help take me to the next level of boxmaking. The DVD is long at well over two hours. However, there is a ton of information here and it is broken up in such a way that accessing it piece by piece is a breeze! I would recommend this DVD to anyone who owns the book and wants to increase their skill level. |
