Jas-store.com Product Description |
|
The Jet Heavy-Duty Universal Mobile Base is exceedingly strong and very stable, yet exceptionally lightweight. For added safety, the base has a unique spring pin design for easy quick-snap adjustments, and a low clearance design raises the machine just 1/2-inch off the floor for added stability. The base can be configured to fit a wide range of machines with weights up to 600-pounds. |

Disappointing |
|
I've been using the base on my Powermatic bandsaw for about 6 months now. On the positive side, it went together very easily. However, I have two issues with it. One, it's not at all stable, the bandsaw wobbles around and seems very unstable. Two, the wheels squeal and groan when it's being moved. It's not a noise like an unlubricated wheel, it a noise like a wheel that's approaching all it can hold. This thing is supposed to be able to hold 600 pounds and it's straining with a bandsaw that only weighs 200? |

Could be a bit more stable with a design change |
I bought this base for my Craftsman 22124 table saw. It fits OK, however one lock pin on the front and back would not engage because of the hole spacing and cabinet width. I left that be, it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. However, the two front casters are too close together. The casters should be located further apart (outboard) to increase stability. As it is, the saw rocks a bit side to side.
BTW, I wouldn't buy a base if it had four swivel casters. Even my tool chest has two swivel and two fixed casters. |

Not very maneuverable |
|
The fixed rear wheels on this base make it difficult to move in any direction except straight. Also, it does not fit a 6" closed based jointer such as the Jet very well (even though it is listed as an accessory for that jointer). I had to do some cutting and drilling to make it workable. |

Jet Mobile Base |
|
The Jet Mobile base was the easiest base to assemble and begin using that I have purchased so far. It took me longer to lift my table saw onto base than it did to put the base together. I would buy the same base if I have the need in the future. |

Makes things so much easier. |
|
This is the second mobile base I've bought. The first was for my table saw. This last one was for a very large, and VERY heavy 5000 WATT generator which I have to load into my truck, by myself. With this product, I can roll the generator up a ramp into the truck bed. Without it, I would have to find somebody to help me load and unload it every time. This base works great for both the saw and the generator. Money well spent. |
