Get at least one. |
For this price, why bother making your own? There are tons of do-it-yourself articles on making these, but you need one of these to make one accurately. Odds are that if you order one of these, you'll wish you had ordered more when you get it.
Why these aren't in every home improvement store I'll never figure out. They are useful, inexpensive, well made and great conversation pieces - "Do you know what this is?". |

Robert Larson 800-2875 Plastic Center finder |
|
this item is really great it helps you find the center of round objects like a round dowel or for me I make stain glass wind chimes and I make the tops that you hang the strings of glass from, out of 3/4 in oak and I need to know where the center of the wooden bottom plate is cause I have to scroll saw a opening for the top piece of the wind chime to fit down in the bottom plate in the center or the wind chime will hang off balance. this center finder worked perfect to help me find the center mark so i could finish cutting the square i have to draw on the bottom plate so the center string of glass can hang straight. |

Works Great |
|
It does what it says, finds the center of round or square item. Just make sure you use a fine tipped pencil otherwise your center might be off a hair. |

It Works |
|
The center finder works and is easy to use. Being plastic, have to be careful, but for the price, I bought 2. |

An excellent accessory. |
I bought several of these. One for myself and one for the man who got me interested in wood turning in the first place.
It is a great accessory and makes finding the center of both round and square stock very easy. I actually gotten a second for myself now "just in case" something happens to the first one.
There are many techniques for finding the center but this one is just so easy. I highly recommend it.
The only problem, and it is a small one, is that for some of my projects it just isn't big enough. Would love one that was a few inches larger as an addition to my shop. :) |
