I bought this 123 MediaMax and it does not work. This is after going to the website for the authorization and for downloading the 'patch' which proceeded to reload the entire program. OK so that is their patch - they acknowledge in the reason for the patch that it was to fix a bug in not being able to rip a DVD to hard drive. Guess what: still will not. It will not read a home-movie DVD, will not rip it to hard drive, will not copy it. This is a bad product. I give it a zero. I want my money back. |

Not as advertised |
The other 1 star reviews are right on. Even though the box says you can rip a dvd to your hard drive and it is an option in the menu it doesn't work. The program will still prompt you to enter a DVD to write to. Definitely not what I payed for.
The CD to MP3 function is a piece of junk. Songs burn to a file individually rather than in an album folder. The worst part is that the tagging information, including a track number, is not added to the file. You would manually have to add the track number, album title, artist name and publication date to EVERY track. You are also prompted to select the device you will use to play the music instead of just what format to save as. I'm not a huge techie but I think I pick a format without selecting the little picture of a Blackberry or iPod. I purchased this program for the express intention of ripping CDs to MP3 so I wouldn't have to have them in iTunes format but at least iTunes is put together enough to help me sort my files.
I can't say anything about the other functions because I uninstalled the program after an hour of futzing with it. This is the most expensive Frisbee I have ever bought. |

Terrible software....even worse support |
Purchased this software about 1 month ago and have not been able to convert the first DVD.
The menu is not necessarily intuitive, but I could tolerate it if the software would work. Have attempted to get support via the 123 MediaMax forum, where support person(s) has been quite a smart alec.....but of absolutely no assistance.
I would recommend that anyone considering purchasing this product spend some time on the 123 MediaMax forum first. Spend some time reviewing the problems so many customers are having....and some time reviewing the support or lack thereof. You will find many people there with similar problems that have not been able to get the program to work, questioning why they are getting no response from support.
I have asked support if I can get a refund....but of course....no response...
I should add that I gave them 1 star only because the rating system wouldn't let me give it a zero. |

Good backup |

I have a huge collection of movies that usually either get misplaced or lost for good so this is a good backup for my dvds. I was also able to make a copy of my niece's baptism for my mom. I did have bit of trouble installing it though so I would recommend checking out system requirements. But once I got it going, it was a useful software to have around. |

Bought this as a christmas gift. The software does everything he wanted it for and he's happy to have it. Has alot of capabilities. |
