Product Description |
|
From beloved mother-daughter duo Mary Higgins Clark, America's Queen of Suspense, and Carol Higgins Clark, author of the hugely popular Regan Reilly mystery series, comes Dashing Through the Snow, a holiday treat you won't want to miss. In the picturesque village of Branscombe, New Hampshire, the townsfolk are all pitching in to prepare for the first (and many hope annual) Festival of Joy. The night before the festival begins, a group of employees at the local market learn that they have won $160 million in the lottery. One of their co-workers, Duncan, decided at the last minute, on the advice of a pair of crooks masquerading as financial advisers, not to play. Then he goes missing. A second winning lottery ticket was purchased in the next town, but the winner hasn't come forward. Could Duncan have secretly bought it? The Clarks' endearing heroes -- Alvirah Meehan, the amateur sleuth, and private investigator Regan Reilly -- have arrived in Branscombe for the festival. They are just the people to find out what is amiss. As they dig beneath the surface, they find that life in Branscombe is not as tranquil as it appears. So much for an old-fashioned weekend in the country. This fast-paced holiday caper will keep you dashing through the pages! |

Dashing Through the Snow |
Both sleuths Alvirah Meehan and Regan Reilly have come to Branscombe for a Christmas Festival. What they also find is a group of people who always play the lottery and have finally won a multi-million pot. One of their group is missing, but as the winning numbers were the ones the missing man always picked they decide to share with him, anyway.
His girl friend has made a trip to town to surprise him and expects him to propose. When he can't be found, she thinks that since he's now rich, he doesn't want her anymore. She's wrong of course, as he's already picked out a ring.
A second ticket is reported a winner, too, but no one has come forth to claim the money!
I can't say a whole lot more without revealing the bad guys, but this is a completely entertaining story with a lot going on. The authors have given us a good book to spend the evening with. It's a fast read.

Christmas Mystery |
|
"Dashing Through the Snow" is very entertaining and easy to "Dash" through. I look forward to the Christmas books that Mary Higgins Clark and her daughter Carol Higgins Clark write together. It makes the Christmas season more joyful for me. Of course, I love Mary Higgins Clark's regular mysteries. They are entertaining and adventuresome without the use of sex or bad language. Keep up the good work, Mary!!! |

One more sappy episode |
|
Another episode in the too long series of sob sister tales by Mary Higgens Clark and her sometime coauthor Carol. Amazing that there continues to be readers of this bilge. |

Audio Cd |

I have the audio CD of this book. I did not like Carol Higgins Clark's reading. I think the reader should be more professional. |

Dashing through the Snow |
|
I enjoy this Christmas series, and have been reading one each year. It is now part of the Christmas tradition at our house. This is easy reading, always a good story, and a chance to visit again with some familiar characters. |
