Excellent read |
|
We have been going to Maui for many years. I had been borrowing a first edition of this book, but wanted to give it as a gift for Christmas, and got one for myself too. It is a must have reference book for anyone traveling to Maui. It really improves your experience... without it, you will miss much. |

Great Guide Book! |
|
We had both the Frommers Maui Day by Day and Maui Revealed with us. We started the Road to Hana with both and after the first few recommended stops, we put the Frommers book down and never picked it up again. Maui Revealed is frank and honest about Maui. We highly recommend this book over all other tour guides. And best yet, they have a website where you can get up to date updates which was invaluable. Worth the investment in every way! |

The only guide book I take along |
I personally have never gone wrong with these guides. My family and I have been visiting the islands for a few decades, and ever since we found these guidebooks, we have used them exclusively. I don't know exactly how many years we've used them, but we've seen a few editions fill our book case.
While some people won't necessarily have the same experiences as the author, all of our trips to recommended areas have resulted in enjoyment.
If it wasn't for this series, I probably wouldn't eat at 'Da Kitchen' every time I'm on Maui.
One thing to note, however, is that these guides were somewhat revolutionary in the extensive, unbiased reporting they provided when they first came out. Now that more people are using them and discovering the 'secrets,' not every place is as private as they once were. The hidden gems are now "revealed," so one might find less traveled paths a little more occupied. However, while there aren't really new spots being pointed out (mostly just reiterations of old editions), they still are pretty spot on in the descriptions and suggestions.
Be sure to check the publisher's website for updates, I mark them in my book to limit unwanted surprises each trip! |

Hand down favorite |

An absolute great job. Well written, concise, sprinkled with humor and common sense advise. Actually bought an extra copy for my daughter since I refused to give mine up. I've read many Maui guide books and this one is by far the best of the bunch. Love it. |

As good as the Bible |
|
This book is so good that we followed it with blind faith to plan our trip. The book is very well-written, accurate and gives sufficient background to prepare for the trip. Ideal if you're driving around because the book gives excellent directions on where to stop. |
